The Fox and the Crow

A Fox was strolling through the woods when he saw a Crow sitting high up on a tree branch, holding a large piece of cheese in her beak. The sly Fox wanted the cheese. He walked to the foot of the tree and began to flatter the Crow, saying, “Good morning, beautiful creature! How your feathers shine! Such a wonderful bird should have a lovely voice.” The vain Crow was so delighted by these praises and wanted to prove she could sing. So, she opened her beak wide to caw, and down fell the cheese straight into the Fox’s waiting mouth.
